The Citroen C2 hatchback debuted at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. Designed on a shortened base, the Citroen C3 had a three-door body with a length of only 3.66 meters. With its small dimensions, the car provides comfortable accommodation for four people. The design feature of the Citroen C2 is the downward-directed rear window line, which provides better visibility to the rear passengers. The tailgate is also interestingly made - it consists of the lower and upper doors. Moreover, they are allowed to be opened separately. The dashboard of the car is borrowed from Citroen C3. In 2004, the premiere of the charged version of Citroen C2 took place. The new car is the ideological successor to the Saxo VTS. A 125-horsepower engine was installed under the hood of the car, paired with a five-speed transmission. Despite its short history of existence, the Citroen C2 model has managed to win several significant awards. In particular, the French magazine Automobile awarded C2 the design award, and the German Bild am Sonntag the Golden Steering Wheel award. In crash tests in the EuroNCAP system, the car also performed well, earning four stars for overall safety.
