The actual, at the moment, generation Honda CR-V appeared before the world community on the stage of the international Detroit auto show in mid-October 2016. In this form, the car was produced until September 2019, when the manufacturer demonstrated an updated version, also in the American market. Modernization cannot be called global. In fact, this is the first planned restyling of the fifth generation. The manufacturer slightly changed the palette of power units and changed the configuration, however, these innovations, most likely, will not affect the domestic market. There are also few changes in the cabin. The central tunnel received a new skin. It now houses a wireless smartphone charger and two USB ports. Among other options, it is worth noting the Honda Sensing safety complex. It is based on radar cruise control and lane keeping system. Thus, the car can almost independently move within the lane, maintain distance, lane and prevent collisions. As for the exterior, it will not be difficult to distinguish the updated version from the pre-reform one, although there are few changes. The novelty has received other bumpers. On them you can see a long thin chrome trim at the bottom, near the central air intake and fog lights. Also worth noting are light-alloy wheels with a new design. At the stern, there are darker brake lights and other exhaust pipes. Instead of round nozzles, they received trapezoidal ones. Honda CR-V is a five-seat mid-size crossover. It measures 4587 mm long, 1854 mm wide, 1679 mm high and 2659 mm between the wheelsets. The ground clearance is solid, even by the standards of the class. About 208 millimeters remain between the bottom point of the underbody and the asphalt. The model is based on a platform from the previous generation with significant improvements. The layout remains the same. On the front axle there are McPherson struts. At the rear, there is a multi-link architecture with massive longitudinal rods. It is in it that the main difference lies. The manufacturer blew up the springs and shock absorbers. Racks are now positioned closer to the wheels. As for the luggage compartment, when loaded under the top shelf, it can hold up to 522 liters of cargo. By sacrificing space and folding the rear sofa, you can free up to 2,146 liters of usable space. For the domestic market, as before, they will offer two atmospheric gasoline engines. Both are inline-four. The basic 2-liter version is equipped with the i-VTEC valve timing and valve lift system. To make the car more tax-friendly, power has been reduced. The engine develops 150 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 189 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm. The older engine has a volume of 2.4 liters, and is also equipped with a direct fuel supply system and a continuously variable system for adjusting the parameters of the gas distribution mechanism. It produces 186 horses at 6400 rpm and 244 Nm of torque at 3900 rpm. In all cases, a proprietary V-belt variator and an all-wheel drive system are offered. The rear axle is connected using a multi-plate clutch.
