The new generation of the SL-class received the R231 index. The car has become longer and wider by about 50 mm and at the same time lighter by 140 kg due to the fact that many of its parts are made of aluminum. The SL63 AMG engine is a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 530 hp. from. Transmission - 7-speed manual AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT. The suspension is sporty AMG. A panoramic roof MAGIC SKY CONTROL was offered as an option. The engine could be boosted with the AMG Performance Package to 556 hp. from. (the torque increased to 900 Nm, the maximum speed - up to 300 km / h). The package also included a carbon fiber AMG engine cover and spoiler, an AMG rear axle differential lock, red lacquered callipers, and an AMG leather steering wheel. The 2012 SL65 AMG is equipped with a 630 hp "biturbo" V12 engine and 1000 Nm of torque. The car's speedometer is marked up to 360 km / h. Transmission - automatic AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC. Tire size front 255/35 R19, rear 285/30 R19. For the 45th anniversary of the model, the limited edition SL65 AMG "45th ANNIVERSARY" has been released in only 50 pieces. The interior is almost completely inherited from its predecessor. However, the steering wheel and dashboard are new. In terms of appearance, the headlights, which many motorists did not like due to the similarity with the C-class optics, have been thoroughly redesigned. The radiator grill has also changed.
