The rear-wheel drive two-seater sports coupe Mercedes-Benz SLS-Klasse debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The supercar became the successor to the SLR McLaren and the ideological successor to the 300 SL. The car went on sale in 2010. A 6.2-liter V8 M159 power unit is installed under the hood of the sports car. This engine develops an output of 571 horsepower. The motor is paired with a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Like its predecessor, the SLS-Klasse doors open upwards. Despite all the tricks of the designers, the mass of the engine still increased by 205 kilograms. To maintain optimal weight distribution, the developers had to abandon the MCT Speedshift automatic transmission. The new supercar comes in a variety of modifications, including the Black Series, the most powerful in its class. In addition, an electric vehicle with four electric motors and a lithium-ion battery is being developed on the basis of this model.
