The official debut of the all-new Opel Corsa was scheduled for the International Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2019, however, in May, photos of the product version and its main characteristics were leaked to the network. It should be noted that the novelty is completely new, already the sixth generation. It moved to a new platform, received the letter F, a rich, by the standards of the segment, list of equipment, a line of compact turbocharged engines and a completely different design. The car is radically different from its predecessor. He received other proportions, as well as a design more reminiscent of the older Insignia. The headlights have become noticeably narrower and have lost their large round focusing lenses. The radiator grille received a hexagonal shape and moved upward, giving way to a trapezoidal air intake. At the stern, you can see a spoiler above the rear window, an embossed bumper and a small double-barreled exhaust system. The Opel Corsa is a five-door subcompact hatchback. After the change of generations, it became noticeably lower and wider. The dimensions of the model are: length 4060 mm, width 1754 mm, and height 1433 mm. In 2017, the PSA concern bought out Opel, which means that the new product received the French CMP platform. It also underpins the Peugeot 208 and DS3 Crossback. The suspension layout is typical for this class. On the front axle there are independent McPherson struts with rigid levers, a subframe and an anti-roll bar, and at the rear there is a semi-dependent torsion bar. It is worth noting that after switching to a new architecture, the car was able to lose about 108 kilograms. Trunk size has also grown. With the backs of the second row of seats raised, the hatchback is able to provide up to 309 liters of free space, which is 25 liters more than the fifth generation. For the Opel Corsa, the manufacturer has prepared five different powertrain options. The petrol versions will be powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech petrol unit. It is equipped with a turbocharging system and is available in three different versions. A choice of configurations are available for 75,100 and 150 horsepower. The junior power unit is equipped with a five-speed mechanics. The middle one also works with a "manual" gearbox, but with 6 gears or an eight-speed hydromechanical automatic with eight operating ranges. For the older engine, only an automatic transmission is offered. For heavy fuel lovers, the manufacturer produces the BlueHDi inline turbo diesel four. It develops 100 horses and works exclusively with a six-speed manual. In addition to the internal combustion engines, the Corsa will receive an all-electric modification. Its motor produces 136 horses and 286 Nm of torque. Power is supplied by a battery of lithium-ion batteries installed under the floor. Their total capacity is 50 kWh. The power reserve is up to 340 kilometers. The Opel Corsa will be presented in four different trim levels. The older version of the GS line will receive a sportier exterior trim, metal pedal pads, a truncated rim steering wheel and a special sport mode for control electronics that warms up the hatchback's character. Inside, you can see an advanced multimedia system with a touch screen of 7 or 10 inches. It is an upgraded version of MyLink. There are also several unusual, by the standards of the class, options. The car will be equipped with leather seats with massage functions, as well as an automatic parking system and radar cruise control.
