A new version of the flagship sedan Acura RLX was shown to the general public on the stage of the California Summer Auto Show in August 2017. In fact, the model is a planned and rather global restyling of the first generation, which was released back in 2013. Distinguishing the new product from its predecessors is not difficult, it has stylish, pointed headlights with elegant eyeliner LED daytime running lights. The main feature of these optics is the many small focusing lenses in each unit. They perfectly illuminate the road and give the car a unique charm. The radiator grille has a hexagonal shape and sports a massive manufacturer's logo. It consists of many small horizontal ribs and a chrome strip along the contour. Under it, on the front bumper, there is a small elongated air intake slot. It is covered with a plastic mesh with a hexagonal honeycomb and houses tiny blocks of fog lights. In general, the car began to look much more modern, received many pleasant cosmetic changes, but, at the same time, did not lose its family traits. The Acura RLX is a premium four-door full-size sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 4982 mm, width 1890 mm, height 1465 mm, and wheelbase 2850 mm. The car's ground clearance is quite small - only 115 millimeters. Thanks to such a low ground clearance, it holds the road perfectly, fits into tight bends and does not lose stability even at high speeds. Also worth noting is the fully-managed AWS chassis, which provides additional maneuverability in all modes of operation. The trunk of a sedan is average. In the standard position, there is about 422 liters of free space at the back. This volume will be quite enough both for everyday tasks of a city dweller and for country trips with several large suitcases on board. It is also worth noting that thanks to the three-volume body, the noise and smell from the trunk will not be able to penetrate into the cabin and spoil the driving experience. The technical stuffing of the Acura RLX has retained its structure and received several pleasant improvements. The sedan's engine is a V-shaped atmospheric petrol six with a volume of 3476 cubic centimeters. Thanks to its good displacement and the i-VTEC system, it develops 310 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 272 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. From now on, all this traction is digested by an automatic transmission of variable gears with ten steps, which replaced the old six-speed gearbox. Thanks to a wide range of gear ratios, the engine can run optimally for longer, which improves dynamics and efficiency. For an additional fee, the sedan can be equipped with a fairly advanced hybrid system. It is based on the same V6, paired with a 35 kW electric motor. It is introduced with a robotic seven-speed gearbox and drives the front wheels. The rear axle also did not go unnoticed, each wheel has a 29 kW electric motor each. Thanks to this technical solution, the sedan received four-wheel drive. the ability to move exclusively on electric traction, and also produces a total of 377 hp and 511 Nm of torque. Acura RLX keeps pace with the times. She has a memorable and rather unusual design, which will perfectly emphasize the individuality and status of its owner in society. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday stream and will not get lost in the large parking lot of the shopping center. The salon is a realm of luxury, exclusive finishing materials, verified ergonomics and uncompromising comfort. Even dense city traffic or a long trip will not be able to deliver even the slightest inconvenience. The manufacturer is well aware that cars of this class, first of all, should give driving pleasure. That is why the sedan is equipped with an excellent line of units that are the quintessence of advanced technology and legendary Japanese quality. RLX will serve for many kilometers and will give unforgettable emotions from every trip.
