The updated Alfa Romeo MiTo was presented to the general public at the international autumn Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. It should be noted that the model is the first planned restyling of the first generation, which debuted five years earlier. The manufacturer installed a new transmission, refreshed the interior and slightly retouched the design. Although the pre-reform model looks quite relevant, it was decided to unify the appearance with the older models of the line. In the design of the front end, chrome has been noticeably added. The rounded headlights with small focusing lenses and elegant new surround are striking. The radiator grill moved down slightly and changed its design. It has the trademark form of the heraldic shield and is covered with many horizontally oriented ribs. Below, on the front bumper, there is a large air intake. It has become a little wider and received new fog lamp blocks. All in all, the model has received a number of pleasant cosmetic changes that have pleasantly refreshed its image. Alfa Romeo MiTo is a premium subcompact three-door hatchback. Its overall dimensions are: length 4063 mm, width 1720 mm, height 1446 mm, and wheelbase 2511 mm. The clearance of the model is small - only 140 mm. This fit is typical for most small European cars. Due to their relatively low center of gravity, they hold the road quite well and are distinguished by excellent maneuverability. On the other hand, a rigid suspension with low energy consumption will be quite demanding on the condition of the road surface. It is worth noting that the hatchback is built on the Fiat Grande Punto platform, which means that it has a chassis layout common for this class. At the front there are independent McPherson struts with an anti-roll bar, and at the rear there is a semi-independent elastic beam. In the domestic market, the hatchback is equipped with a line of three motors, mechanical and robotic gearboxes, as well as exclusively front-wheel drive. Thanks to a wide range of powertrains, the model becomes quite versatile and is able to satisfy most of the needs of a potential buyer. The base engine of the Alfa Romeo MiTo is a compact two-cylinder in-line turbocharged gasoline unit with only 875 cubic centimeters. Despite its tiny displacement, it develops quite a serious 105 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque. It mates exclusively with a six-speed manual and propels the hatchback to 100 kilometers per hour in 11.4 seconds. Fuel consumption is expectedly low - only 4.2 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers in a combined driving cycle. For those who like it hotter, the manufacturer can offer a rather powerful engine for such a small car. This is a 1.4-liter inline turbocharged petrol four. Depending on the version, it produces 140-170 horsepower and about 230 Nm of torque. Thanks to such a herd under the hood, the hatchback shoots up to a hundred in 7.3-8.1 seconds and reaches a maximum of 209-219 kilometers per hour. Despite the excellent dynamics, fuel consumption is quite democratic - about 5.4 liters per hundred in the combined cycle. Despite its size, the MiTo has a sporty character. She has a pleasant neoclassical design, which, in the best possible way, will emphasize the character and personality of its owner. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday stream and will not get lost in the large parking lot of the shopping center. Salon is the kingdom of high-quality finishing materials, sports ergonomics and comfort. Even heavy traffic or rush hour congestion will not be able to deliver unnecessary inconvenience to the driver. The manufacturer is well aware that the heart and soul of this kind of cars is their engine. That is why, under the hood of the hatchback, there is a compact, but surprisingly powerful power unit, which is an alloy of modern developments and the many years of experience of Italian engineers. The Alfa Romeo MiTo combines the practicality of a subcompact class with the character of a sports car.
