The first series is an attempt by the Bavarian manufacturer to get its share in one of the most popular segments of the automotive market at the moment. It is worth noting that the designers approached this issue quite categorically and tried to transfer all the family traits of the older brothers in the model line on a more compact scale. Every year, the tough rules dictated by the automotive market more and more reduce this categorization, as a result of which even such automotive giants have to reconsider their principles. In the last days of May 2019, a completely new BMW 1 series was announced, radically different from its predecessors. These changes are immediately apparent. The third generation, which received the F40 index, has completely different proportions. The hood has become higher and noticeably shorter, the front overhang has increased, and the front wheels have moved closer to the struts. Overall, the model has become more like the second series with a lower roof. BMW of the first series is a compact golf class car, now available in the format of a five-door hatchback. After a generational change, the car measures 4319 mm in length, 1799 mm in width, 1434 mm in height and 2670 mm between wheelsets. Like most competitors, the BMW 1 Series is equipped with a modern safety complex. In its arsenal there is an advanced parking assistant that helps to maneuver in reverse, blind spot monitoring, an automatic braking system that can detect cyclists and pedestrians, active radar cruise control, as well as a system that monitors traffic lane and is able to keep the car in the lane. Among other things, it is worth noting the fully LED adaptive headlights, panoramic roof, interior ambient lighting, as well as glass projection and a fully virtual instrument panel.
