For the first time, the BMW 7 series was presented to the general public on January 16, 2019. Its official sales will start in the spring, and not only in Western countries, but also in Russia. The novelty is the first restyling of the sixth generation, which debuted back in 2015. The model received a rich engine range, luxurious interior, a wide range of options and design. The new corporate identity of the Bavarian manufacturer is difficult to confuse with something. The radiator grille nostrils have become simply huge and practically merged together. They go onto the bonnet and have received a sparser, but embossed ribbing. The headlights have narrowed perceptibly. They retained the family's layout with four focusing lenses and a thin strip of LED running lights. Below, on the front bumper, you can see a rather unusual cut of the air intake covered with a black grille. Adjacent to it are L-shaped chrome trims. The rear has a quieter look. Large brake lights, connected by a thin jumper and a couple of huge exhaust pipes, are striking. The BMW 7 Series is a premium full-size four-door sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 5120 mm, width 1902 mm, height 1467 mm, and the wheelbase is 3070 mm. The amount of ground clearance directly depends on the mode of operation of the air suspension. In the lower position, about 135 millimeters remain between the bottom and the canvas. The chassis itself came from the pre-reform model, however, it received other settings. The size of the trunk, as before, allows you to take everything you need with you. The three-volume body can hold up to 515 liters of luggage. For the domestic market, the manufacturer has prepared five different power units, upgraded automatic transmissions ZF, as well as rear or branded all-wheel drive xDrive. The base engines of the BMW 7 series are turbocharged inline petrol fours. They produce 249 horsepower and are installed exclusively on the rear-wheel drive version. In this configuration, the sedan will gain a hundred in 6.2 seconds, has an electronic speed limiter at around 250 km / h and consumes about 7 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers. The top unit is a real 4.4-liter V8. Thanks to two turbochargers, it produces 530 horses, is able to accelerate the car to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds and consumes about 9.5 liters in the same mode. The diesel line of the 7 Series is represented by turbocharged inline-six with direct injection. Depending on the version, the output of such a unit can be 249, 320 or 400 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be 5.8, 5.3 and 4.6 seconds, respectively, and consumption is about 6 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km in the combined cycle. As with all other versions, the maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h. The BMW 7 series belongs to the premium segment and is equipped with all the necessary equipment for a comfortable and safe trip. Of the additional options, it is worth noting a separate multimedia system for rear passengers, door closers, a head-up display, a pre-heater, rear seat ventilation, adaptive cruise control that can keep a distance behind the car, laser headlights, an automatic parking system and a night vision device.
