The reincarnation of the legendary BMW 8 series appeared before the world community in the most suitable place for this - as part of a special event held on June 15, 2018 on the legendary track near the city of Le Mans. It is worth noting that a year earlier, the German manufacturer showed off a pre-production concept at the Villa d'Este elegance competition. The final version received an extremely powerful technical filling, a luxurious and functional interior, as well as a mesmerizing design. The silhouette of the novelty is woven from swift thin lines. The long bonnet, sloping roofline and embossed body panels create a sense of speed and elegance. The front is made in a classic style. Striking narrow, elongated headlights with angular sections of LED daytime running lights and multiple focusing lenses. The radiator grill consists of two fused huge "nostrils", taken away with relief vertical ribs. As for the stern, it also turned out to be very interesting. I would like to note the slightly upturned edge of the fifth door, brake lights with LED filling and two huge tailpipes of the exhaust system. The BMW 8 Series is a premium sporty four-seater coupe. Its overall dimensions are: length 4851 mm, width 1902 mm, height 1346 mm, and wheelbase 2822 mm. The amount of ground clearance depends on the type of engine installed on the car and varies from 121 to 128 millimeters. Despite its sporty character, the model has a relatively roomy trunk. Thanks to versatile motors and a fairly versatile transmission, the model boasts excellent performance. Diesel versions of the BMW 8 series will be equipped with an inline turbocharged three-liter six. Thanks to an advanced supercharging system, it produces 320 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 680 Nm of torque from 1750 to 2250 rpm. In this configuration, the coupe accelerates to the first hundred in 4.9 seconds and has an electronic limiter at around 250 kilometers per hour. Despite such dynamics, in quiet driving modes, fuel consumption is quite democratic - 6.2 liters of diesel fuel per hundred kilometers in a combined cycle. For fans of hotter, the manufacturer offers a real gasoline V-eight with a turbocharger. A volume of 4.4 liters allowed the engineers to squeeze out 530 horsepower in a small interval between 5500 and 6000 rpm, and also get 750 Nm in a very wide range - 1800-4600 rpm. Such a herd under the hood and a good shelf of torque allow the eight to shoot up to a hundred in 3.7 seconds. Unfortunately, its speed ceiling will also be limited to 250 km / h. With regard to fuel consumption, it will be 10.5 liters of gasoline in the combined cycle with a leisurely driving style. The all-new BMW 8 series is a worthy successor to its legendary ancestor. She has a stunning and aggressive design, which, in the best possible way, will emphasize the character and status of its owner in society.
