The all-new BMW Z4 was shown to the global public on the catwalks of the annual Elegance Show in Pebble Beach at the end of August 2018. The novelty is a full-fledged third generation, and not another planned restyling. She received a completely new platform, an internal G29 index, a progressive technical filling, an unusual interior and a rather aggressive appearance. First of all, I would like to note the elongated headlights with several focusing elements and small angular sections of LED daytime running lights. The radiator grille is made in the corporate style and consists of two nostrils, covered with a mesh with tiny cells. As for the stern, it sports elongated full-LED brake lights, an upturned trunk lid and two massive exhaust pipes. BMW Zet 4 is a premium sporty two-seater roadster with a soft roof. Its overall dimensions are: length 4324 mm, width 1864 mm, height 1304 mm, and wheelbase 2470 mm. As for the ground clearance, it depends on the vehicle version and is 114-117 millimeters. This seating position gives the model a relatively low center of gravity, allowing it to remain stable during active driving. The platform itself was developed in conjunction with Toyota and has a completely independent layout. In the front there are two parallel levers, and in the back there is a multi-link. By default, the vehicle is equipped with anti-roll bars, coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers. For an additional fee, a version with adaptive electronic racks can be ordered. Despite its sporty character, the Z4 has a relatively roomy trunk. Regardless of the position of the roof, it is able to provide up to 281 liters of free space. The car will be powered by three different engines, eight-speed ZF automatic transmissions, and exclusively rear-wheel drive. The richer trims boast an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and traction vector control. The base engine of the BMW Z4 is a 1998 cc in-line turbocharged petrol four. Depending on the version, it produces 197-258 horsepower and 320-400 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the roadster accelerates to the first hundred in 5.4-6.6 seconds and reaches a maximum of 240-250 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption will be 7.4 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers at a city pace, 5.3-5.4 liters on the highway and 6.1 liters in a combined cycle. Top versions will receive a three-liter petrol V-shaped six. The solid displacement allowed the engineers to squeeze out 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque from 1600 to 4500 revolutions of the crankshaft per minute. With such a herd under the hood, the car shoots to the first hundred in just 4.5 seconds and has an electronic limiter at around 250 kilometers per hour. In a quiet driving mode, fuel consumption is quite democratic - 9.2 liters in the city, 6.3 on the highway and 7.4 in the combined cycle. By default, the BMW Z4 is equipped with front and side airbags, ABS, ESP and EBD, dual-zone air conditioning, full LED lighting, leather interior, virtual instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system, parking sensors, cruise control, keyless entry, full power accessories, heated seats, and parking sensors.
