The original Cadillac XT5 was released in 2016. The model, first of all, aimed at the market of North America and China. Since car enthusiasts from these countries have quite different tastes, the car was sold in each market with quite significant differences. First of all, the power units were different. By the way, a more American version was offered in Russia. In the summer of 2019, the model gradually began to undergo an update. The first in line was the market from the Middle Kingdom. Then, in July, the US version was presented with more global changes, and at the end of the outgoing 2019, it became known about the specification of the domestic version, and a pre-order was also opened. The updated car received a new engine and transmission. It will not be difficult to distinguish it from the pre-reform version. First of all, the new grille is striking. Instead of thin solid horizontal ribs, she received a dotted design. A massive protective strip has disappeared from the lower edge of the front bumper. The headlamps have received a richer filling. Already in the basic version, they are fully LED with adaptive high beam section. The composition of the complete sets has changed. Only two older versions will come to us: Premium Luxury and Sport. From the list of options, it is worth highlighting a night vision system, a screen in the rear-view mirror, an all-round visibility system, a climate system with three zones of operation, as well as radar cruise control, a lane tracking system and the entire resulting security complex. The Cadillac XT5 is a full-size, five-seat premium crossover. It measures 4815 mm long, 1903 mm wide, 1675 mm high and 2857 mm between the wheelsets. The ground clearance is quite solid and is 200 millimeters. At the heart of the car is the newly developed C1 platform. The layout is more expensive. The power unit is located transversely. The suspension is completely independent: McPherson struts at the front and multi-link architecture at the rear. The chassis is attached to the body by means of hydraulically supported subframes. Adaptive twin-tube shock absorbers with a remote bypass valve. The Sport version additionally boasts more driver settings for the suspension, steering and transmission. Previously, the Cadillac XT5 was equipped with a V-shaped atmospheric six. After restyling, the crossover will receive an in-line two-liter petrol four with a turbocharging system. To increase its attractiveness from a tax point of view, its peak power has been reduced to 200 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The eight-speed hydromechanical automatic Aisin was replaced by a more advanced nine-speed automatic transmission of its own design. In the domestic market, all models will be presented with four-wheel drive. The rear axle connects in an unusual way. The gearbox contains two multi-plate friction clutches that separately connect the wheels of the rear pair. As a result, the car is able to accelerate from zero to hundreds in 9 seconds and reach a maximum of 210 km / h.
