The Geely MK Cross “compact SUV” is based on the Geely MK-2 hatchback platform, first unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2008. Both externally and structurally, these models are quite similar, but there are some differences. First of all, externally, Geely MK Cross is distinguished by an aerodynamic body kit - a front bumper skirt, wheel arch linings and plastic sills. With their help, the designers sought to camouflage the city hatchback as an SUV. Compared to the MK-2, the Geely MK Cross received a chrome false radiator grille, alloy wheels of the original design and roof rails, and the ground clearance was increased from 150 to 175 mm. Changes in the cabin have been reduced to the coloring of individual elements, including the inserts on the seats, gearshift cover and steering wheel, in red, as well as the installation of steel pedal pads with a pretense of sportiness. However, in terms of its dynamic characteristics, the Geely MK Cross is no different from the MK-2. Under its hood is the same 1.5-liter 16-valve gasoline engine that develops 94 hp. and is capable of accelerating the car to 160 km / h. At the same time, starting off, Geely MK Cross gains 100 km / h in 11.5 seconds, and the declared fuel consumption is 6.5 liters in the combined cycle. The motor is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In Russia, Geely MK Cross is offered in the only Comfort configuration. The list of equipment for it includes power steering, air conditioning, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, power windows, an audio system with 4 speakers, alarm and fog lights. Safety in the Geely MK Cross is provided by an electronic brake force distribution system, ABS, as well as airbags for the driver and passenger.
