The first compact minivan of the Chinese manufacturer Great Wall - Cowry - has been produced since 2007. A new plant was built specifically for the production of the car in Baoding City. The car was developed with the expectation of sales not only in the domestic market, but also in Asia and even Europe. The car is designed on the platform of the 2001 Toyota Voxy Japanese minivan. The car can accommodate eight adults, while in the trunk there will be room for 809 liters of cargo. To increase the luggage compartment to 1059 liters, the last two rows of seats will have to be folded. The Great Wall Cowry minivan is equipped with a 4G63 four-cylinder engine manufactured under license from Mitsubishi. The working volume of the engine is 2 liters, the developed power is 143 horsepower. The unit has been upgraded to comply with Euro 4 environmental standards. The car is supplied to the Russian market in four configuration options: Standard, Comfort, Luxury and Elite. Moreover, in the most expensive version, the car is equipped with an electric sunroof and a GPS navigator. The manufacturer announced plans to establish the production of Grat Wall Cowry at its own plant in the Russian city of Elabuga.
