In the Russian market, a new model from Honda, combining the capabilities of a sedan and a crossover, appeared in March 2011 under the name Honda Crosstour. From passenger cars Honda Crosstour received a streamlined body shape, a low seating position, a comfortably tuned suspension and good handling. From crossovers - four-wheel drive, a powerful engine and a ground clearance of 205 mm. The result is a hybrid that has no analogues on the market. The Japanese automaker claims to have created a new class of cars, and this seems to be true. However, in Russia, where crossovers are popular, the Honda Crosstour did not take root. Partly, the reason for this was the too high price, which in 2011 started at 1.7 million rubles. Such an amount was then able to cross out many of the advantages of the car, of which the Honda Crosstour has a lot. First, the Honda Crosstour is versatile. The car is well suited for daily trips around the city, long journeys, outings in nature and much more. It is not a shame to drive up to a theater or an expensive restaurant on it, but you can take it and give up on vacation. The interior of the Honda Crosstour was designed with the same aim. The interior of the Honda Crosstour is finished with expensive materials that create a feeling of comfort and even luxury, but at the same time it has many different niches and compartments for storing small things. Trunk panels are double-sided. On the one hand, they have high-quality fabric, on the other, plastic, which is easy to clean. There is a niche under the floor with a waterproof box for shoes or other things. The Honda Crosstour is powered by a 275 hp V-shaped six-cylinder petrol engine. and 339 Nm of torque. It is mated with an electronically controlled five-speed Honda Crosstour automatic transmission that recognizes driving styles and road conditions, selecting the optimal gear ratios for maximum smoothness, especially on twisty and uneven roads. The connection between the gas pedal and the engine is carried out in a similar way for the Honda Crosstour. First, signals from the pedal are sent to the transmission module, which is optimized according to vehicle speed and many other parameters, and then sent to the Honda Crosstour engine control unit. Under normal conditions, the Honda Crosstour all-wheel drive system uses only the front wheels. But as soon as they start to slip, the rear axle is connected. System response times are reduced to a minimum to improve vehicle stability on the road. In 2013, an updated version of the Honda Crosstour appeared, in which the developers tried to remove the shortcomings of its predecessor and take into account the wishes of customers. In particular, a modification with front-wheel drive and a 194-horsepower 2.4-liter engine was developed, which turned out to be 200 thousand cheaper. Externally, the new Honda Crosstour was distinguished by a radiator grill, modified bumpers, the shape of the side skirts, as well as the design of alloy wheels. In her cabin, you could find a redesigned center console, aluminum inserts and new headrests, since the old ones severely limited the driver's view. The list of minimum equipment installed on the Honda Crosstour includes leather trim, climate control with two zones, an electric sunroof, two touchscreen displays, a camera mounted above the rear bumper, xenon headlights, a radio with six speakers, a subwoofer and a CD changer. For safety, the Honda Crosstour was equipped with eight airbags, anti-lock brakes with brake force distribution and dynamic stabilization. Monitoring of blind spots was offered for an additional fee. The top versions were equipped with a 3.5-liter 281-horsepower i-VTEC engine, in which some of the cylinders are switched off at idle speed and when operating with low load, as well as a six-speed "automatic". Advanced equipment of the Honda Crosstour included navigation with traffic monitoring, a multimedia entertainment system capable of playing videos, keyless entry to the cabin, engine start with a button and paddle shifters.
