The third generation Hyundai Solaris was released in 2017 and managed to be sold in large numbers. At the end of February 2020, following the related i20, the Korean manufacturer announced the first scheduled restyling of the third generation. The debut of the commercial version took place directly at the plant in St. Petersburg. It is symbolic that the new version has become the two millionth car produced at the facilities of this enterprise. Restyling took place according to a proven scheme. First of all, I would like to note the new appearance of the car. The front part has become more modern and laconic. The headlights have slightly changed their shape, they have lost the garlands of daytime running lights. Inside is a fully LED filling and a more stylish bezel for the DRL. The radiator grille has become larger and visually adjoins the front optics. She received a design from a laconic black plastic mesh without chrome edging and ribs, as in the previous model. The central air intake is wider. Recesses with fog lights became more prominent, deeper and also lost chrome lining. There are not many changes at the stern. The reflective sections were moved lower, and in their place there was a relief imitation of air ducts. Alloy wheels received a new unique design. The salon, for the most part, has remained the same. An enlarged touch screen is located in the center of the front panel. Compared to its predecessor, its diagonal has grown by an inch, which is why it was necessary to change the shape of the ducts on the sides of it. The multimedia system itself is capable of synchronizing with smartphones using the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. Among other things, there is a popular Yandex navigator and voice assistant Alice. The list of equipment has expanded. A USB connector for charging phones appeared on the second row, the mirrors were electrically driven and can be folded at the touch of a button, as well as electrically adjustable lumbar support in the front row of seats. Among other functions, it is worth noting remote engine start. Hyundai Solaris is a subcompact five-seater B class sedan. It measures 4405 mm long, 1729 mm wide, 1469 mm high and 2600 mm between the wheelsets. The ground clearance is 160 millimeters. The suspension remains unchanged. In the front there are independent McPherson struts, and in the back there is a torsion beam. The trunk can hold up to 480 liters, and the rear sofa folds down in a 2: 1 ratio. As before, Hyundai Solaris will be equipped with two powertrains. The base is an inline 1.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline four G4LC with 100 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque. For an additional fee, you can purchase the 1.6-liter G4FC, capable of delivering 123 horses and 151 Nm of torque. Both engines boast an advanced variable valve timing system on both camshafts and a variable intake manifold. By default, they are mated with a six-speed manual, and for an additional fee, a six-speed classically torque converter is available.
