The new generation Hyundai Veloster first saw the light at the Detroit International Winter Auto Show in mid-January 2018. Although the manufacturer positions the model as the second generation, in fact, this is a rather deep restyling. The car received a modernized technical filling, an expanded list of options and an updated design. Striking curved headlights with large focusing lens units and unobtrusive LED daytime running lights are striking. The radiator grille has a truly gigantic size and extends almost the entire height of the front bumper. It has a hexagonal shape and consists of many large elongated honeycombs. On the sides of it, you can see a couple of triangular grooves with black plastic inserts. They give the front end a rather aggressive look. The food was also quite interesting. Noteworthy is the large trapezoidal exhaust system, new upturned brake lights and sharper bumper lines. In general, the novelty received several pleasant cosmetic changes, but at the same time, it has not lost its charm and is still perfectly recognizable on the road. Hyundai Veloster is positioned by the manufacturer as a C class coupe, however, it is rather a four-door hatchback with an asymmetric body. Its overall dimensions are: length 4239 mm, width 1778 mm, height 1397 mm, and the wheelbase is 2650 mm. The average clearance of the model is 150 millimeters. Such ground clearance is typical of cars, whose path is asphalt streets and suburban highways. They hold the road well, they can drive on a small curb and do not lose stability, even at high speeds. The hatchback's trunk is medium in size, within this class. When loaded "under the roof" and the backrests of the second row of seats are raised, up to 564 liters of free space is left behind. Thanks to such spaciousness, the car is perfect for everyday tasks of a city dweller and will not hit the face in the dirt, even during a long trip with several bulky suitcases on board. If, on a whim of fate, the owner has to transport a larger cargo, he can always sacrifice seats and fold the backs of the back row. Hyundai Veloster will have at its disposal one engine, manual and automatic transmissions of variable transmissions, as well as exclusively front-wheel drive. Despite the modest list of units presented, they are quite versatile and capable of meeting most of the needs of a potential buyer. The car is equipped with an in-line atmospheric gasoline four of the Gamma series. It has a rather small volume - only 1591 cubic centimeters. Despite this, the dual variable valve timing system, coupled with direct fuel injection, allowed the engineers to squeeze out 147 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 179 Nm of torque at 4850 crankshaft rpm. Unfortunately, the operational and dynamic characteristics of such a car have not yet been specified. Thanks to its bodywork, Veloster becomes a unique proposition in its class. It has a stylish and memorable design that perfectly emphasizes the character and personality of its owner. Such a car will not get lost in the gray everyday stream and will not dissolve in the large parking lot of the shopping center.
