In late summer 2018, the Japanese premium manufacturer presented an updated version of the Lexus RC to the world public. The first original generation was released back in 2014 and now, four years later, it underwent the first restyling. The updates are quite complex. The technical component was modernized, the interior was slightly modified, the list of additional equipment was expanded and the exterior was refreshed. The novelty can be distinguished, first of all, by the modified radiator grill. It has a large size, a trademark spindle shape and occupies almost the entire center of the front bumper. From now on, all models, regardless of the configuration, will receive a design from a grid with large cells. The optics of the head lighting has also changed. She received a fully LED filling with three-story low beam sections and L-shaped daytime running lights. As for the stern, it received a different trunk lid, new brake lights and a bumper with air ducts. Lexus RC is a premium mid-size four-seat sports coupe. The car measures 4695 mm in length, 1395 mm in height, 1840 mm in width and 2730 mm between the axles. The ground clearance, as typical of a sports car, is quite small and is only 135 millimeters. The car is built on the IS sedan platform and adopted its suspension layout. There are two wishbones in the front, and a multi-link system in the back. Compared to its predecessor, the updated model has a more "driver" character, thanks to the reconfigured steering and suspension. The manufacturer installed shock absorbers with reconfigured characteristics and other silent blocks. In the domestic market, the Lexus RC is officially offered exclusively in the 200t trim level. Under the hood of such models is an in-line two-liter turbocharged petrol four. In addition to an advanced boost system, it boasts direct fuel injection and a proprietary variable valve timing system on both shafts. As a result, to make the car more attractive in terms of taxation, the engine power was set at 245 horsepower at 5800 rpm, and the torque was 350 Nm in the range from 1650 to 4400 crankshaft revolutions per minute. As a gearbox, an exclusively classic eight-band hydromechanical automatic is offered. As a result, the car is able to accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 7.5 seconds and reach a maximum of 230 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption in the combined driving cycle will be 7.2 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers. As befits a premium segment, the Lexus RC boasts a wide range of options. The car is equipped with eight airbags, ABS, HAC, EPS and TRC systems, leather interior, electrically adjustable seats, heating and ventilation, full LED headlights, keyless entry system, climate control with two zones of operation, an advanced multimedia system with an eight-inch touch screen and the optional F Sport package.
