Choose appropriate trim of Mercedes Citan Combi (415):
The new Mercedes-Benz Citan was presented for the first time at the International Commercial Vehicles Show in Hanover on September 20, 2010. In 2013, Citan received a 33% active safety rating in Euro NCAP crash tests and an overall rating of 3 stars. However, Mercedes-Benz in the same year requested a recheck and in the next test the results were noticeably better: 70% for active safety systems and 4 stars overall rating. Mercedes-Benz Citan is available in two body types - minibus and van. With the same overall dimensions, the useful volume of the van is much larger (3,100 versus 658 liters) and a slightly higher carrying capacity. However, the van lacks four additional side windows that are present in the minibus variant. The passenger version of the Citan can carry 5 people, including the driver and 658 liters of cargo. If necessary, the entire rear row and the front passenger seat can be folded to increase the useful volume to 3000 liters, which brings this figure very close to the useful volume of the van. In the cargo version, the rear row of seats is completely absent, and the front passenger seat can be reclined in the same way as in a minibus. To ensure the safety of the driver, a partition is located between the cargo compartment and the seats, which, depending on the configuration, can be either lattice or made of sheet steel. The engine range for the new Mercedes-Benz Citan consists of three four-cylinder diesel engines and one gasoline engine mounted on a front-wheel drive platform. Diesel engines are distinguished from each other only by the gradually increasing power (75, 90 and 110 hp) and the gearboxes supplied with them (5-speed in trim levels 108-109 CDI and 6-speed in 111 CDI). All engines are additionally equipped with particulate filters. The petrol engine produces 114 hp. and is equipped with the BlueEFFICIENCY package, which is optional for diesel models. At the same time, there are a number of significant limitations. To meet the Euro5 standard, the owner of a Citan with a diesel engine must also have an outside temperature sensor, power windows in the front doors and power side mirrors. An additional limitation is payload - Citan owners with increased payload will not be able to install the BlueEFFICIENCY package.
