The first generation Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe was released in 2015 and bore the C292 index. Despite the general trends, it was not just a "coupe-like" version of the original model and had a lot of differences. It did not appear from the very beginning of the release of the related GLE, it had not only a shallow stern, but also a different front end with completely unique details. In 2019, just a year after the debut of the GLE V167, the manufacturer also showed off a second-generation Coupe version. She received a similar line of powertrains, as well as a slightly different platform, sharpened for a more driver-like driving experience. The salon received a new corporate layout with a less convex center console and a huge screen of the proprietary MBUX multimedia system. As for the design, the manufacturer decided not to breed modifications and for the most part unified the external panels. Distinguishing the new generation from its predecessor will not be difficult. The headlights have become noticeably smaller, they have received a more modern filling and double L-shaped sections of daytime running lights. The radiator grill has changed its shape, however, retained its design. For an additional fee, you can order styling from AMG with thin vertically oriented ribs. The stern has received a more aggressive shape with an upturned trunk lid, narrower brake lights, a massive protective trim, imitation diffuser and two chrome exhaust pipes at the edges. The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is a full-size premium crossover with a coupe-shaped C-pillar slope. In terms of its dimensions, it is slightly different from the standard version, its body is slightly longer, wider and taller. The car is 4939 mm long, 2010 mm wide and 1700 mm high. The wheelbase is 2935 mm, which is 60 mm less than the regular GLE. At the heart of the car is the new modular MHA platform, which is also used in the larger GLS. It has a completely independent architecture: two wishbones at the front and a multi-link at the rear. The suspension is available in three different versions. Basic versions will receive telescopic shock absorbers and coil springs. For an additional fee, you can order the Airmatic pneumatic system, and older configurations are distinguished by a much more advanced E-Active Body Control system. This hydropneumatic suspension has four control loops for each individual wheel and is powered by a separate 48-volt vehicle electrical system. At the start of sales, the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will be equipped with just three powerplant options. Base versions will get a 2.9-liter inline diesel turbocharged six. She carries the OM656 index. It has two turbochargers and a Common Rail fuel supply system. There are two modifications to choose from. The base 350d produces 272 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. A more powerful version of the 400d with 330 horses and 700 Nm of torque is also available. A petrol unit is also offered as an alternative. It also features a supercharged three-liter petrol six. It managed to squeeze out 367 horses and 500 Nm of torque. As a transmission, an exclusively classic hydromechanical automatic variable transmission with nine 9G-Tronic operating ranges is offered. The drive is exceptionally full, with an emphasis on the rear axle, it is on it, the lion's share of the time, that the torque is transmitted, the front wheels are connected via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch. As a result, the diesel GLE Coupe is capable of reaching a speed of 100 km / h in 5.7-6.9 seconds and accelerates to 230-245 km / h. The petrol version gains a hundred in 5.7 seconds and has an electronic limiter at around 250 km / h.
