The new Mini Coupe was presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October 2011. The car was created on the Cabrio platform, but at the same time received only 2 seats: the rear seat was abandoned in favor of an elegant coupe silhouette and a more spacious trunk, the volume of which is 280 liters - one and a half times more than the luggage compartment of the classic Mini Cooper. There are 3 gasoline engines in the Mini Cooper Coupe powertrain line. The basic version of the car is equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 122 hp, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 9 seconds. The more powerful Mini Cooper S Coupe is offered with an 184 hp unit, and the top modification - John Cooper Works has 211 hp. Along with these European buyers, a diesel version of a coupe with a 2-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 141 hp is available. Standard for all Mini Cooper Coupe modifications, without exception, is a 6-speed manual gearbox, but a 6-band “automatic” can be ordered for an additional fee. For the first time, an active rear spoiler has been developed for the Mini Cooper Coupe, which automatically extends when accelerating to 80 km / h, providing increased downforce and better stability at high speeds. Another feature of the Mini Coupe, compared to the 3-door hatchback, is the stiffer body due to reinforced sills and braces behind the front seat backrests. Also, its suspension has been re-tuned to improve handling. The basic equipment of the car includes 4 airbags, a dynamic stability control system, a Mini CD audio system, an engine start button, electrically adjustable mirrors and a parking radar. At the same time, the air conditioner, which is present in the “charged” modification of the Mini Cooper S Coupe, is available to buyers of an ordinary coupe only with the purchase of the Salt package of options. In addition, the list of optional equipment includes heated front seats, heated mirrors and washer nozzles, leather trim and bi-xenon headlights.
