The Mitsubishi Pajero SUV underwent restyling in 2019, but the updated car only reached Russia in 2021. Sport is still produced at the PCMA plant near Kaluga. From now on, the SUV will be produced in Russia in both diesel and gasoline versions (previously there was only diesel). The updated car is easily recognizable by the seriously redesigned front end. Pajero Sport is distinguished by a hood installed just above, two-section front optics, slightly modified rear lights, a different arrangement of fog lights and reflectors in the rear. And the look of the rear bumper has become a little different. Newly designed 18-inch wheels are now available. The Japanese have redesigned the interior. In the top versions, you can find a display in the dashboard (albeit with not the best graphics), the shape of the center console and the central tunnel has changed, and the finishing materials have improved. We also worked on the multimedia system - an 8-inch monitor appeared. The electric handbrake received the Autohold function. The luggage compartment door is equipped with an electric drive, there are additional USB inputs for those sitting in the back. In the course of restyling, the length of the car changed slightly - from 4785 to 4825 mm. Width and height remained unchanged at 1815 and 1805 mm, respectively. The wheel is the same - 2800 mm. The ground clearance of the SUV has not changed either, under the bottom it has 218 mm. The volume of the fuel tank is 68 liters, the curb weight is from 2030 to 2075 kg. The luggage compartment volume is 715-1815 liters. Pajero Sport is equipped with two motors. The first is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel. Power - 181 hp, torque - 430 Nm. This engine is equipped with a six-speed "mechanics" or eight-speed "automatic". The second engine is a three-liter gasoline atmospheric V-shaped "six", which produces 209 hp. and 279 Nm. This power unit only comes with an automatic transmission. Pajero Sport exists in a rear-wheel drive version, but on the Russian market there are only four-wheel drive cars. The drivetrain is the well-known Super Select II. You can drive rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, block the center differential (traction is distributed in a 50/50 ratio) and include a downshift. The basic equipment of the Pajero Sport can be considered poor. There are: a pair of airbags, a CD player, a single-zone climate, heated front seats, mirrors and a windshield in the wiper area, a stabilization system, a fabric interior, R18 alloy wheels, halogen headlights, cruise control, keyless entry. More expensive versions offer the following options: eco-leather interior, display tidy, rear parking sensors and a camera, rear window tinted, adaptive cruise control, two-color wheels, a remote access system from a smartphone, LED headlights, light and rain sensors, dual-zone climate , Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, USB inputs. The start of sales of Pajero Sport is scheduled for May 2021. The announced price is from 2,879,000 to 3,600,000 rubles. It should be noted that the restyling here was not formal, but really deep enough (though in everything except technology, which in the case of Pajero Sport is quite organic and unchanged). The updated exterior, interior and some additional features make this car a more interesting acquisition than it was with an outdated original. The only question is how justified is the noticeable rise in prices compared to its predecessor.
