The all-new SEAT Leon made its debut at a special show in Martorell in early 2020. In fact, this is the fourth generation of the Spanish bestseller. Last year, the model found 152,000 new customers. Like the previous generation, the novelty is built on the basis of the current eighth generation Volkswagen Golf. Despite this, the development was spent about 1.1 billion euros. If surprises are not expected in the technical stuffing, then they tried seriously over the exterior. Leon is aimed primarily at a younger audience than his closest competitors. The novelty looks defiant and fast. Slightly recessed, elongated angular headlights with unusual narrow sections of LED running lights are striking. By default, they are fully LED, and for an additional fee they can be equipped with a matrix filling. The rear sports a spoiler above the fifth door cover and brake lights connected by a thin LED strip. In their shape, they resemble the graphics of navigation lights. Below, in the corners of the front bumper, there are two elongated chrome-plated tailpipes of the exhaust system. Moreover, there are two styling options to choose from. For an additional fee, an optional FR package can be ordered. As for the equipment, it is at a high level. By default, the car is equipped with a virtual cockpit. A 10.25-inch screen is placed in front of the driver's eyes, replacing the classic dashboard. And the center console houses an 8.25 or optional 10-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Seat Leon is a five-seater compact city car of the Golf class. It is offered in two body styles: a five-door hatchback and a station wagon. In the first case, it is 4368 mm long, 1800 mm wide, 1456 mm high and 2686 mm between the wheelsets. The station wagon is 274 mm longer. The car is based on the MQB platform in its extreme version. On the front axle, the classic, for this segment, independent McPherson struts. As for the back of the cart, like a golf cart, there are two options. Versions with low-power power units receive a simple semi-independent torsion beam, while the more powerful ones receive a full-fledged multi-link system. The SEAT Leon's power palette also comes from golf. The starting engine is a gasoline inline three with a volume of only one liter. Thanks to the turbocharging system, it is offered in two boost options: 90 and 110 horsepower. On the next step, there are full fours of 1.5 liters. There are 130 and 150 horses to choose from. The most powerful modifications under the hood have a two-liter four for 190 forces. For heavy fuel lovers, a two-liter TDI Evo with a urea converter is offered, also in two versions: 115 and 150 hp. There are two gearboxes: a classic six-speed manual and a proprietary DSG preselective robot with two clutches and seven gears. The drive is mostly front-wheel drive, however, for some versions, like the older diesel engine, a plug-in system with a multi-plate clutch is offered.
