The international premiere of the updated second generation Suzuki Vitara took place on the catwalks of the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Versions for the domestic market are somewhat different from their European counterparts and, as a result, received a slightly modified list of improvements. So, the technical filling did not receive cardinal changes, the interior was redrawn, the list of equipment was expanded and the exterior was retouched. You can distinguish the restyled version from its predecessor at the front. The radiator grille has received a different design with many vertically oriented chrome fins. The front bumper itself has also changed. The central air intake received a different trim covering the amplifier and other sections of the LED daytime running lights. The optional alloy wheels have been redesigned and two additional body paints have been added to the catalog. The list of other exterior parts has also been expanded, allowing you to order a car to your liking. Suzuki Vitara is a compact urban crossover. Its overall dimensions are: length 4175 mm, width 1775 mm, height 1610 mm, and wheelbase 2500 mm. The ground clearance is only slightly higher than the average passenger car and is 185 millimeters. The chassis, like the platform itself, are made according to all the canons of this segment. In front there is a transversely mounted power unit with a subframe and McPherson independent struts, and a multi-link suspension at the rear. The boot space is relatively small compared to the competition. Due to the under-floor spare wheel recess, when loaded under the top shelf, the crossover is able to provide only 375 liters of free space. For the transport of bulky goods, the rear backrests can be folded down and receive up to 1120 liters. In the domestic market, the Suzuki Vitara will receive two powertrains. Basic is a classic in-line atmospheric gasoline four of 1.6 liters. It develops 117 horsepower and mates with all possible drivetrain variations. There is a choice of manual and automatic transmissions, as well as front or all-wheel drive. Depending on the version, the crossover is capable of gaining the first hundred in 11.5-13 seconds, accelerating to 180 kilometers per hour and consuming 5.8-6.3 liters of gasoline per hundred in the combined driving cycle. Older versions received a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol four. It produces 140 horses, fits exclusively with automatic transmissions, as well as any type of drive. With such a motor, the car is capable of reaching 100 km / h in 9.5-10.2 seconds, and the high-speed ceiling will be located at around 200 km / h. Fuel consumption is slightly higher - 5.9-6.2 liters of gasoline under the same conditions. There are no frankly empty trim levels for the Suzuki Vitara. Even the basic version will provide all the necessary systems for a comfortable and safe trip. Older configurations, in addition to trivial options, will receive a lot of advanced electronic assistants. The car can be equipped with systems for monitoring blind spots, determining road signs, monitoring lane traffic, parking radars and an advanced brake assistant, capable of maintaining control in emergency situations and preventing collisions.
