The headquarters of the South Korean automobile company Daewoo is located in Seoul. The production of inexpensive and high-quality cars under the Daewoo brand for Russia would be impossible without an automobile plant in Uzbekistan, built in 1994. It was a joint Uzbek-Korean project Uz-Daewoo Auto Co. At first, equipment from imported components came off the assembly line of the new plant. After some time, the production of parts became local, which significantly reduced the cost of the cars produced.
