The main production facilities of the German company Opel, specializing in the production of passenger cars, are located in Germany in the city of Russelheim. The five brothers founded their own car company in 1898 and were named after Adam Opel, their father, who owned a bicycle and sewing machine factory. At first, the brothers assembled cars based on the Darracq engine and chassis. Only at the beginning of the 20th century, the world saw the first Opel model, which was the company's own development. In 1928, the firm joined the General Motors concern. And in the 40s of the XIX century, the Germans again appropriated all the factories of the huge enterprise. After the Second World War, part of the plant's equipment was exported to the territory of Russia. However, this did not stop Opel from reviving its operations around the world.
